Dr. Benton graduated from Louisiana State University and Louisiana State University Medical School – Shreveport. She completed her residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004. Upon graduation, she joined OB/GYN Associates of Alabama.Dr. Benton is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Jefferson County Medical Society. She is board certififed by the American Board of OB/GYN as of December 2007.

Dr. Benton is married to a Birmingham native; she and her husband are members of Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic church. She has two young children, and keeps herself busy with her 2nd job — being a Mother!
